Our Company

Company Background

Our company, I/O Concepts, was formed in 1989 by a group of innovative people seeking a way to create a simple solution for UNIX-to-mainframe connectivity, using TN3270 technology. We wanted it to be easy to understand and install, be flexible to the end-user requirements, and increase network productivity.

I/O Concepts has developed a variety of exciting TN3270 X-Direct products for UNIX-to-mainframe connectivity. The X-Direct software is compatible with all major UNIX platforms including HP, Sun, IBM, DEC, Motorola, SGI, and PC-based UNIX supporting Solaris. The feature rich terminal emulation software runs as a client of the X-Direct SCSI-to-Coax hardware or independently as a client on an existing TCP/IP connection into the mainframe. The emulator is fully configurable and supports national languages other than U.S. English.

We have recently developed a new family of products for the Windows 95/NT marketplace. Under the generic name of 'Win-Direct', the include a full-feature TN3270 emulator, coax and SDLC gateways, and a '3270 over the Web' product.
